Dude – I’m with you on the whole Vista pwns as a gaming platform bandwagon.
I just finished the demo of crysis and plan on DLing the retail version soon.
My rig is pretty much the same as yours but I’m using AMD instead of Intel…was just a price thing.
Athlon X2 64 6000
8800gts 320mb
4GB ddr2-800mhz ram
Vista Ultimate 32bit
One problem – I tried installing and running doom2 (from original cd) but get an error trying to run it. I put that dll file in the directory, but that didnt seem to help. Any ideas?
Gonna try Wing Commander 3 too.
Nice Blog.
Ciao
Hmm…
Usually the DPlay.dll file fixes all of the issues that the original Doom engine had with the software DirectX 9.0L. Other than that, have you updated your OS with all the gaming hotfixes? Auto-updating doesn’t usually do the trick for those. I’ll try to get a listing of the most critical ones up soon, so check back in a bit.
